Musée cantonal de zoologie

Located on the 5th floor of the Palais de Rumine, the department of zoology has exhibits from the 19th and even the 18th century. The permanent exhibition has an old-fashioned charm, especially the comparative anatomy room with its rows of jars, skeletons and two-headed monsters.

In the galleries, some impressive pieces await visitors such as the tiger, the moose and the polar bear. The 5.89-metre great white shark is the largest stuffed specimen in the world. Temporary exhibitions are also regularly presented, as well as various events.
