And yet, beyond its utilitarian role, it contains rich layers of meaning : crucifixion nails, African nail fetish figures, studded jackets, piercings, popular expressions, and more. In their quest to hammer home the importance of this subject, the exhibition creators have totally nailed it !

A stone’s throw from the lake, in the leafy setting of a Mediterranean-style garden, the Musée Romain contains the remains of a rich ancient residence and, in its permanent exhibition, presents the archaeological material discovered at the Lousonna site.
Every year, temporary exhibitions offer a renewed and occasionally quirky look at archaeology and the past, Roman or otherwise.
Guided tours, workshops for classes and events also help to bring Antiquity to life, offering a journey through time.
A short walk from the museum, the archaeological trail offers the ideal complement to the museum visit for those wishing to discover the ruins of the ancient town centre, the forum.
